So I've been noticing that I can find reviews and sound samples of half stacks but not the combo version of the same type of amp. Do the half stacks and combos sound the same?

Nope. 6505 is a good example.

Which amp in particular is it that you're looking for?

It depends on a lot really. Take my JCM900 4102 for example. Played as a combo it sounds really good for some styles (like stones songs and some punk for example) but for metal, plugging it into my 1960A sounds stacks better (pardon the pun)

Yeah I was looking at either the 6505+ or the bugera 6262. I've played/heard both of the half stacks, but I dont know if I want to buy the combo without playing it.
