So my friend who's now a drummer gave me his Yamaha Pacifica that he had from before he started drumming. The output jack is gone though, just the two wires are sticking out. I know I can get a new one for like $5, but my local shop is closed today, and I can't make a trip down to Guitar Center. Could I just take the input jack out of my old practice amp and use that? If not, I can just wait to get a real one.

you could tape the wires to the instrument lead

I would just wait, even if it's a few days, cause then if you plan on selling your amp the re-sale factor will go down just for $5..

Is that a serious question. I can't really tell if it's that or a flame. But just grab those two wires and stick 'em onto the end of a lead and it should work fine.

Just to answer the question, yes you can do this, but as stated it can cause problems. If you don't look to reselling this, then I don't think it would be a big deal. I did this with an amp of mine and it works just fine.
I feel a little wiitarded....
