#1
revised from an old song of the same name and idea. somewhat

Stop pretending that people care.
They only look at what’s in the mirror.
take all day to explain it then
think of what they’ll tell you next-
Some big problem they swipe at
And can’t ever be reached.
they expect you to fill the void
of their emptiness and indecision.

So turn your other cheek
And find the cracks in the sidewalk
To be the best friends
You’ll ever need

Life is but a joke of
sticking popsicle sticks in
the ground we’ve walked on before
as we stumble into junky sunsets.
lie outright to everyone
And you'll believe everything
you’ve been told, and the shame
Is that you’re so beautiful to me.

So turn your other cheek
because you’re potential
could break through the ceiling
And change everything.

And I never want to be lonely
And I never want to care
And I never want to be scared
And I never want to stay home
And I never want to make
another stir-fry dinner
while I stare at plaster walls
and think of what I could be doing.

so turn your other cheek
and live for once.

first of all I prefer this revised version better. Its more poetic and brings more imagery than the old song..

So turn your other cheek
And find the cracks in the sidewalk
To be the best friends
You’ll ever need I like this

Life is but a joke of
sticking popsicle sticks in
the ground we’ve walked on before
as we stumble into junky sunsets.
lie outright to everyone
And you'll believe everything
you’ve been told, and the shame
Is that you’re so beautiful to me. This whole part is pretty good..but could be better. reads nicely though.

So turn your other cheek
because you’re potential
could break through the ceiling
And change everything. uh.....sorry this stuck out badly

And the next parts are good keep it up

Stop pretending that people care.
They only look at what’s in the mirror.
take all day to explain it then
think of what they’ll tell you next- A nice way to start it.
Some big problem they swipe at
And can’t ever be reached.
they expect you to fill the void
of their emptiness and indecision. Not sure on the first two lines here, but I like the last two.

So turn your other cheek
And find the cracks in the sidewalk
To be the best friends

I like this; don't change a thing.

Life is but a joke of
sticking popsicle sticks in
the ground we’ve walked on before
as we stumble into junky sunsets.
lie outright to everyone
And you'll believe everything
you’ve been told, and the shame
Is that you’re so beautiful to me.
I'm not sure on the fourth line, but I like the rest.

So turn your other cheek
because you’re potential
could break through the ceiling
And change everything.
"You're" should be "your", but other than that, good.

And I never want to be lonely
And I never want to care
And I never want to be scared
And I never want to stay home
And I never want to make
another stir-fry dinner
while I stare at plaster walls
and think of what I could be doing.
This actually felt like the strongest part to me yet; I love it.

so turn your other cheek
and live for once.A nice way to wrap it up.
Overall, I really like this piece; 8.5/10.
