hey all

i recently got a Gotoh 201 to replace the mediocre stock fender bridge on my aerodyne.

The bridge will fit and all ive already checked. Would replacing the bridge be something you'd do on your own? if so does anyone have any advice on how?

or would this be the kind of thing youd see a luthier for?

I made the same bridge swap on my Aerodyne. It is an easy switch: just unscrew the old bridge and screw in the new one. The holes line up perfectly. Should take less than five minutes when the strings are off.

what about action, truss rod adjustment, intonation?

do these things need to be adjusted?

Truss rod shouldn't really need to be adjusted unless you change string gauge, or leave the strings off too much.

And action and intonation will need to be set once the bridge is on. But i can remember reading somewhere that somebody moved the saddles to the same positions on their old bridge to get the intonation roughly correct. I would try that
