Just wanted to know how much bad soldering can affect tone? I know i am terrible with the soldering iron. I just changed some pickups and i dont know, it feels lacking throughout (more than one guitar) which is why i dont think its the pickups that i dont like. So how much can my crappy soldering skills affect my tone?
The main things that can happen with bad soldering is you either short a component, open circuit a component, or the solder seems fine, and then breaks at a later time, while playing (which creates a horrible noise).

With what Jim said, could be the pickups.
Could be, i have yet to try it with higher volumes so it is likely just that trying these out at vol 1-2 is not the greatest idea.

In any case thanks alot. I appreciate the quick response. I'll check back in sometime tomorrow when i can crank the amp.
