Hi guys. I'll cut to the chase.

I've found a used Peavey 5150. I haggled the price down to $1200NZ.

It's in good condition, original tubes etc.

Is that a good price?

Price can be converted to your currency here.

I don't know what they go for in NZ, but I'm guessing they're much more expensive over there. I'm thinking it's a pretty good deal for you and you should check it out.

I've saved for a few months. I've wanted a 5150 for 2 years.

With your ibanez, it will be such a huge improvement
I never played the 5150 but even my Valveking was an awesome improvement!

The owner is pretty sure that it still has the original tubes. Will these be ok?

Also, sorry for the bump. New Zealand has a screwed up time zone.

Didn't you say it was new tubes?

They should be ok still, if they're in a bad way you'll know as soon as you plug in because it just won't sound right. And even if you do have to replace the tubes a month or two down the track it's still a great deal.

I see 5150's go secondhand between 900-1000AUD regularly. So that's pretty much dead on where it should be.

Edit: Peavey 5150's are biased pretty cold. Tubes have been known to last 10-15 years in 5150s.
