you can buy loads and loads of egg boxes and put them on the door.

buy a rug the size of your wall and hang it one inch away from the door to create a makeshift vacuum.

... or just buy headphones.

Not sure The Pit is the place you'd be wanting to ask this....

Maybe try going to GB&C? I'm not sure where this would go.

First you put your pants on your head.
Second you dance.
Third you wipe off all the pussy.

I think you'd need to soundproof alot more than the door. You'd probably have to do all of the walls aswell.

Ask in R&R, they know about this shit in there.

it is like an apartment, but the rooms are just like a small living room with a kitchen and bathroom. beds are optional and there is a desk. i would say at most, 3 people can sleep here if they all sleep on the floor haha

easy solution-kill Neighbours

Hard solution- egg cartons on walls or carpet on walls

Ill let you pick which one is more to your needs.

Palm mute when you play. It's what I do at the dorm at night.

I wasn't really talking about the size, I meant the construction, which isn't quite as good as it should be most of the times. That explains why it's so poorly isolated, soundwise.

Quilts of bedspreads would work better than blankets. If possible, pleat them a little to help deflect the sound. It will also look better than egg crates.
#20
Get free used mattresses from craigslist?

Seriously, though, egg cartons, quilts, etc. might help.
#21
Egg boxes don't work.
It's an urban myth guys. They work no better or worse than any other material you have lying about the house.

I suggest rock wool, it's damn expensive but it actually works.
...plus you won't have to eat omelettes for the next two years.

The only way to fully sound proof a room is to have a room built inside another one, with a space between them. I'll guess this isn't an option for you.
#22
you could hang some curtains in stead of blankets. If you hang them so that they wrinkle they should insulate the sound better(More space between the wall and curtain, but you'll wont lose more space in your room)

Or fill up the chamber of your guitar with a blanket. It's what drummers do to silence the bass drum
(Don't know how it's actually called in english)
