I'm going to be buying a eight string guitar but I can't decide on which to buy between the two models i'm looking at.

ESP LTD FM-418

OR

Ibanez RG2228 Prestige

I've tried the two but can't deicide which is the better.

I think they both have trems

neither have trems, but the ibanez has locking nut and fine tuners, i'd go with that.

your going to buy an eight string guitar, use "an" before a word that starts with a vowel.

REALLY? people can't spell for crap on here, and you point out that?

i love ESP/LTD, i would choose that over ibanez any day. the LTD looks better too. i've always hated the look of ibanez guitars.

Ahem...yeah...Those in glass houses...

ON TOPIC: I'd suggest going in and REALLY trying them. Play each for at least 40 minutes. Be more brutal with it than you would normally be in any practice because, at the end of the day, it's a lot of your money and you need to know you can rely on the guitar.

the esp does look better, but i like the locking/fine tuning part of the ibanez. a guitar is, after all, about playing, then people looking at it comes second.
i can't say from experience on the playability on either, but that's my 2 cents.

^hahaha. didn't even catch that.

Oh, and your tongue is on fire.

I agree with the pot calling the kettle black but this is more of a grammatical thing, I feel like an idiot every time I read: 'A (insert word beginning with a vowel here)' and it pisses me off rather then a spelling mistake which is funny.

my friend has the Ibanez, but i hate it. The neck is ridiculously thin and just feels wrong all over. I personally favor ESP/LTD cause they know how to make a guitar feel nice all over, and it looks much better in my opinion too.

id say esp, ive played it, its a tad different, i had issues with 7 strings though
