I'm looking for a replacement for the stock humbucker pickup in my yamaha pacifica 112J (the older model not the newer 112V) it's HSS. My amp is a fender hot rod deluxe.

I'm not looking for anything super high gain, tend to play mainly blues and rock from B.B king to GnR or AC/DC at the heaviest, sticking for the most part to pink floyd, chilis, cream, hendrix rhythm etc.

I ideally want a lead tone to range from a B.B king clean lead tone (think thrill is gone) to through to approaching gary moore's sort of sound
For rhythm kinda led zeppelin rhythm sound (Black dog like) and something suitable for playing in a pub jazz band.

It's a fairly big ask for all those sounds out of a pickup i'd guess, but that's the sort of ballpark i'm looking at. I was thinking SD pearly gates? maybe JB?
it's pretty hard to try before you buy with pickups...

I was never too hot on the JB, if anything go Pearly Gates. I want to get one for the bridge of my C1
Peavey XXX combo *upgraded screen resistors, Tung-Sol's, and 6L6's*
Schecter Syn Std. * modded, scalloped, and worn*
Schecter C-1 Elite *still sexy*
Ibanez AEL 12-string

You'll find whisky very different, but try it and you'll grow into it, soon you and whisky are one, but still two, lovers dancing across a frozen lake under moonlight, wrapped in honey and warmth.

The Pearly Gates is a Classic Rock oriented pickup that can handle hard stuff and clean up well for cleans.

Holy biggest list of pickup retaielrs I've ever seen.

The pearly gates would do nicely for classic rock. I'm also not fond of the JB.

He'll make you something that does exactly what you want...probably some kind of slightly overwound Alnico IV PAF-type.
Actually called Mark!
