Yes, you can easily wire it to a single volume knob. The pickup should come with the right pot (should be a 50k pot), which you replace the existing pot with - then you just wire it up following EMG's wiring instructions. When it comes to the tone knob, just ignore what they say there. You never need to have a tone control on the guitar (hell, you don't even need to have a volume knob - though it's a little silly to not have one)
