Sold my B52 a week ago (too big & loud). Picked up a Blackheart little giant combo and it sounds great, but I want more warmth, smoother top end, and just a little more headroom so I'm replacing the tubes and speaker any suggestions?

Tone wise think Andy Timmons "Ghost Of You" & "Super '70s"

The amp takes 12ax7's el84 tubes
It currently has a 12" speaker 16 Ohm Handling 75W RMS

Put a 12at7 for less gain and for power tubes try a JJ el84, they are a bit darker sounding, thus a little warmer.

Maybe you're still used to the B52's?

Is there such a thing as a heavy riff with out chugging on the e string?
