A question for SG owners or general guitar techs: What diameter screws are used in the mounting holes? I'm building a custom one for an SG Special, which doesn't come with a pickguard.

Thanks.

Surely if it's a custom made made pickguard, you could use whatever diameter screws your drill bit is, I.e if you use a 3mm drill bit, use 3mm screws.
My Rig:
American Standard Telecaster
Fender Starcaster
Sp. Edition Jack Daniels Strat (Modded)
Vox AC15CC1

Stuff I've Built:
Telecaster Deluxe
Telecaster Junior
Pedalboard (from a shelf )
the odd pedal

Yeah, but just for authenticity and "preservation of the guitar" purposes, I want to find the rough size. Just incase too big a screw takes from tone or weakens the structure of the guitar.

I'm a little paranoid about hurting my babies
