Hi, I have a tube modeling amp, and when I put it on standby before I turn it off, it makes a noise like something electric is whirling, Is this normal because I have recently noticed it?

Also I was thinking maybe its because I stand right next to my amp when I play, so would being close to the amp do anything?

It's quite possible to be the pickups working like an antenna picking up things like the amp's power supply, especially if the are single coil pickups.
