I don't understand the question.

I'm told that black guitars with white pickguards look very impressive under stage lighting, as the contrast shows up so clearly.. but i'd imagine the same would apply to white guitars with black pickguards, evidently gibson agreed in the late '50s with their "TV yellow" finish which was pale yellow with a black pickguard.

Does that have anything to do with the question? I'm assuming you're on about finishes here.
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

i think esp had the ec 1000 in white for about $600 whilst the black was about $1000, personally i like black and the only time i can think you need a white guitar is when headlining the glastonbury festival on a saturday

DOH! You know I should have understood the question better! I dealt with values in photography and art!

"Value refers to the relative lightness or darkness of a certain area. Value can be used for emphasis. Variations in value are used to create a focal point."

I would think white is the better value! Black tends to get lost on a dark stage it absorbs light where white reflects light. A white guitar under different color stage lighting will look different depending on what color or combination light it's reflecting so white would be the better choice you'll always be able to focus on it.

I think it depends on what you're wearing lol

White strats, sgs, les pauls, flying vs and explorers are all beautiful. I don't think there's any guitar that I would get in black if white were an option.

Black guitars are classy but over used. White guitars on the other hand are sexy and under used. I also completely back johnro6659's assessment. Even when wearing moderately toned clothes, Clapton's black strat still seems to vanish into him. The only time I can truly remember it popping is when he wore a hot pink business suit on stage in the 80s but I'd honestly like to never think of such images ever again.

I'm not 100% sure what the question's asking, but I think white guitars are so much nicer than black ones, even with pickguards. Everyone and their dog has a black guitar, and it's really about as generic and boring as it gets IMO. Plus I've got a thing for white guitars with black bevels, and white Gibson-style Vs with black pickguards are absolutely beautiful IMO, about as attractive as a guitar gets to me bar maybe a trans cherry or dark orange V like Flux'D's with a black pickguard. And I do think white guitars stand out better onstage too, in dark conditions with LEDs and other stagelights with black you can't really see the guitar clearly unless it's got a light pickguard on it, but if you're playing a white guitar, you can see it for sure.

Nah, I prefer to tune lower. My tunings usually go into weird Hebrew symbols.

depends on the guitar em.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

Personally i like a guitar that excels at popping caps in ass's when people mess with me.

Not that colour has anything to do with that
