I had my low E string snap on me today on my Ibanez sas32ex. It's a new guitar to me (bought it used), and this is my first time stringing a guitar completely on my own. The strings seem to be fine, everything is great, but when I tune the strings, the tremelo raises, causing them to go flat. I retune, the tremelo raises a little more, as if I were using the whammy bar, causing the strings to go out of tune as I tune the string beside it....

Am I doing something wrong here?

- as a side note, I WAS having tuning problems before my string snapped, and the tremelo was probably raising and I just didn't notice it. The whole reason my low E string snapped was I was trying to stretch it out, thinking maybe that was the problem.

tune it up, the level the trem using the screws in the back on the springs (tighten 1/4 turn at a time), then retune, then if not parallel repeat until the knife edges are parallel with the body...
