Hi there,

well basicly, i need to get my tremolo fixed cos i somehow lost the part of my tremolo which holds my E string (don't ask me how please, it was during restringing and i didnt notice till i went to put the new strings on a while later, proberly due to this is the first time ive used this type of trem and proberly unscrewed something too much idk) and the edge III which it currently has hasnt amazed me because it wont stay in tune. and rather than go get this bit ordered in and installed id rather just buy a better trem.

so are there any suggestions? also any pickup upgrades i can look into? keeping in mind im not full of cash atm

thanks.

Edge pro or lo-pro. The Floyd roses aren't garunteed to be direct replacements, you might have to route out a bit more space to fit one, but the edge series will fit.

Sounds like you lost one of the saddles. If so, you can simply buy a replacement saddle.

nah its not that, its like a pad, which secures the string.

The best Floyd is a properly set up Floyd.
This includes the Edge III.

You can order the string locks here:
http://www.allparts.com/Saddle-Inserts-p/bp-0114-003.htm

I personally have no problems with my Edge III, and thats because I have mine set up correctly.

Good luck, check out the floyd rose thread here:

Sorry, didn't see you had a floating tremolo like an Edge III. Though you can buy pieces for that too. I've played a few Ibby's with the Edge III and I didn't have much trouble keeping them in tune. As long as the strings aren't terribly old, are up to tune before locking the nut, and have settled properly, they should be fine once you lock the nut. Also, I second the guy above. Setting up your tremolo is a must.

hmm, ok well, what im going to do is ring the local guitar shop and see if they have or can order in my replacements for the edge III, get them to look at it and set everything up properly because i dont know enough to fiddle around with anything knowing what im actually doing and see if it will tune any better.

thanks for the replies everyone.

Aftermarket Edge trems are pretty expensive to buy striaght from Ibanez(an Edge 3 is around $200, more than an OFR) so I'd suggest looking on ebay if you're going to get the new trem. The clamps(part that you lost) are probably less than the shipping charges on them, so you might be better off going that way and getting it set up.
