hey dudes i just got my bad monkey, its all good and everything but i think i might need a noise gate/suppressor?

i run the pedal in front of a randall rg50tc into the high input, i can hear good tone in there but it has to contend with the static, do i need a noise gate or should i change settings, i have the BM level on 10 and gain on 0, my amp gain on about 7.

any advice appreciated

oh im going for a modern metal tone, think killswitch-ish

The problem may be in 9v adapter, if you are running one.
You can also to move the eq to 3/4 and leave the level to 2/4

yh ill try and lowwering the level, im using the official ps200r adapter so i dont think its that as i havent misused/abused it at all, will a noise gate be a worthy investment anyway?

I can't really help you about the noise gate, because i don't own one myself, but they tend to ruin your tone a bit. However i read only good opinions on the isp decimator.

I use an ISP Decimator with my bad monkey and its great. I'd recommend getting one especially if you play metal

man. you bought a bad monkey for a thick heavy killswitch tone?

try turning down the level a bit. maybe check the adapter.

my amp is high gain , i use the BM on the OD channel to tighten it up.
ive sorted the problem by fiddling with channel and master volumes.

thanks for everyone's help
