Thinkin about spending the cash..but I wanna hear from you guys my UG experienced players..... My father's helping me out with the $$....but i wanna know....do i get an entire new rig....or the guitar.... is it really really gonna be the shit as far as sounding...and will it go up in value?....OR do i say you know dad... I think i want some new amps and maybe a bitchin LES Paul Studio with some adjustments?....Tell me what you think...the guitar is $12,000 with tax and all...and It really is the Dream Les Paul...but you could grab TWO, really bitchin Studio Les Pauls for the same priced....So do i blow the money on the guitar or.....do I Go on a shoppin spree?

Holy mother of god... for 12,000 you could buy an insane setup and then just build your own jimmy page les paul. Honestly with me i see no other option.

I think you are either starved for attention by making this thread, or you are possibly not right in the head. You go from discussing a $12k guitar to a "bitching" Les Paul Studio as another alternative. And you can grab twelve, not two studios for 12k.
#7
i will gladly sell you two les paul studios for $12K. Hell, I'll throw in a PRS 10 top at no charge as well.

Okay intelligent response after the shock has worn off...

Get your dream amp for what... 3000 dollars? 4000? maybe a marshall plexi, a bogner ecstasy, soldano slo even....

Next get yourself a mills acoustics afterburner for 1200 dollars

Then spend about 1000 on boutique pedals

After all of this you've still got what 7000 dollars left? you could buy a new les paul custom and throw in some dimarzios... there you go... instant orgasm tone with about 4000 left for hookers and coke...

i posted this in the other thread you made...

There is no guarantee that it will increase in value, the Jimmy Page #1 les paul went up in value depending on the one you got, but it was primarily the signed one that initially sold for $35k that is now fetching the big bucks. There is no guarantee that the #2 will, it might, but at the same time, oversaturating the market with Page les pauls does nothing but drive prices down. #1 sold because it was the first real Page replica to come out and the one that Gibson pulled out all the stops on.

Investing in guitars can be risky business, but the $12000 VOS model most likely will be more of a personal collectable rather than something that you can resell later for more. If you're a huge Page fanatic or something and want Page's sound, assuming you can play as well, you'd be getting much closer by buying a Gibson r9, replacing the pickups and playing it through a Marshall super lead and 4x12 than you will with the #2 les paul. Page never really used #2 that much, it was mainly a backup stage guitar.

Second, I know it's not my place to judge here, but if you need your dad's help to pay for a $12000 guitar, then you probably shouldn't be buying a $12000 guitar. If it's your own money and you can afford to spend it, then fine, but part of me would just have a hard time owning a guitar that costs that much if I couldn't afford it myself.

dude
you're freaking retarded

just by a studio and mod it w/ the same pick ups

then spend a shit ton of like 3 more guitars and like an awesome tube amp

seriously do you honestly need to spend ALL that money on ONE guitar?

I don't give a shit if Page blows his load all over the thing, I don't believe anyone would be justified in spending that much cash on a new guitar. **** buy a car

Cocaine is more of a status drug, its not all that great in reality. Lsd is cool but high priced escorts and lsd just dont really match up. Thats more like picking up some nice hipster chicks and drinking coffee or something. Coke is high class... puerto rican females and china white, dosent get much more high class than that. And with a ****ing rig like that high class is the only way to go.

i guess if i'm ever going to be a decent cop, i should start polishing up my investigative skills a lil...

https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/search.php?searchid=2391066

anyone who doesn't find this link somewhat intriguing should be branded...with MY initials...anyway, just a few threads down you see he's stated he's been playing 3 years roughly. he's also posted the same exact thread in two other forum categories, against the rules isn't it? i'm pretty sure it is.

though i'm definitely not stating the TS is a liar lol...i'm just pointing out that he's kinda broken the rules and i'm thinking of reporting since the other threads are open still, and i find it hard to believe that a guitarist with 3 years of experience gets this kind of expensive gear? but who knows, there ARE rich kids out there with even richer parents, right?

once again, TS i'm not saying you're lying, but i mean come on...3 years of playing and then acquiring a 12K guitar IS a lil fishy if i do say so myself. now if you were just a wealthy black man, this would be an open-shut case!

EXACTLY, coke is high class, like bogner owning les paul chucking class, lsd is more for someone who wants a life changing experience. Coke is for people who just dont give a shit and have way too much money to blow... which clearly this kid and his father have far too much money to blow.

....and yes this thread fails.... that is why im talking about puerto rican hookers and coke

I could get closer to Jimmy Page's sound off of the BBC Sessions with less than 1200 dollars worth of gear.

Buying a 12000 dollar sig guitar makes you a collector, not a player.

I think it's one of those things you learn in college, most of the cokeheads I know came from prep schools.

I wish my LP Studio was worth half that Page Signature. I'd already have a Mojave Peacemaker, a Caswell-modded Super Lead, or something similar.

for $12000 you can buy a beautiful '59 custom shop reissue, a marshall plexi Handwired full stack, and a used Gibson EDS-1275. and STILL have money left over. you will have THE jimmy page rig, rather than 1 guitar.

^ It depends whether you're going after live or studio tones...

Even in the studio he used a bunch of different amps and guitars. Page's tone is the most elusive of all the classic rock canon, IMO. Even trying to replicate his live tone is a little bit difficult.

But oh man, the things I could do with $12,000...

His best tone, IMO, came in the live 1969 stuff, and maybe some of the Yardbirds stuff. That sound he gets in Heart Full of Soul is great.

And that's just simple tele->tonebender->amp, be it Marshall, Hiwatt or whatever the hell else he used.
