Hey UG, my Egnater Rebel 30 combo will (finally) come tomorrow, and i just have one quick question, just out of curiosity. Is the Rebel a Class A or A/B or B amp? Ive looked everywhere and i cant seem to find the answer.
Thanks.

There is no 'B'

The amp is A 'rated' and A/B 'rated' SWITCHABLE via some circuitry magic. Not sure I can spell it all out in my drunken state but you can Wiki it or search on it. 'A' relates to simple single channel amps with relatively low gain and tube count. 'A/B' relates to more complex gain stages, multiple channels, and a more hefty power section.

Basically you have a knob that controls Vintageness to more Moderness. There, two new words for Wiki.

I'm sure I got that wrong

The tube config confidently suggests it is class A/B. Class B really isn't used for amplifiers.

circuit magic makes it 'feel' liek you have an 'A' amp no?

Haha...

The whole class A better than class A/B is quite a silly argument really... I'd take a class A/B anyday for the power needed for metal. I can't imagine how how a 100watts class A amp will run.
