You may try looking into the dark ambient or atmospheric/post metal genres, you might find something there.
Also check out rat king, they can be heavy/dark and they don't use too many electric guitars..

Necromantia feature very little guitar, 99% of their stuff is on 12 string and 8 string basses.

I want to try that while playing the opening riff to "Tempting Time".

0-0-0-13-0-0-0-0-13 or something like that alalalala but It;s so heavy and off time and awesome and you could not f**k anyone to it.

KHETTIIIIII SAAAAAATHA SHEMSUUUUUUU

A couple of Nile songs don't have guitars to them, but you'd be hard pressed to find a decent metal band with no guitars (Maybe you could count Apocalyptica or something as that)

Irrwisch is a Dutch black metal band that only uses bass guitar, cello and drums.

The American drone/doom band Methadrone is just bass, drums, and vox (though it really sounds like there are guitars on some of their songs, I'm a bit skeptical).

Also Puissance are metal enough to mention I guess.

I was thinking maybe Orrery. Most dark ambient as well if you were to consider it metal. The atmosphere of it is certainly fairly metal I'd say.

The thrones...pretty sure it's only bass and vocals, he might use a drum machine or something though.

A lot of aggrotech has a similar feeling to metal, but it's industrial/electronic dance music, with no guitars.

Suicide Commando, Hocico, :wumpscut: and similar.

I've heard a funeral doom band who used a double bass and classical instruments to back the growls. Wasn't terribly interesting though.

"Lunatic Soul" is the solo project of Mariusz Duda from Riverside and features no guitars. I wouldn't call it particularly heavy though...

Without electric guitar?! i thought that electric guitar was kinda important for metal.

Fantastic music, but not really metal in any way.

EDIT:
Ewan Dobson?

MUSIC= Melody, Harmony, Rythm, Beat

Singing/Screaming=Melody or harmony

Guitar=Melody, Harmony, or Rythm

Bass=Melody, Harmony, Rythm, or beat

Drums=Beat

Growls=Rythm

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
METAL=usually something that has either a heavy sound, feeling, message, or reputation. Also rebelious or hardcore.

Metal without electric guitar= Acoustic fingerpicking for Melody, Bass for harmony, Growling for Rythm, and Drums for beat. ....now try to sound BRUTAL

it works!
