so, i have no idea of what kind of supplies to buy to do this. i also have no idea how to do this. let's just say that i'm a noob to guitar building/customizing. i want to repaint my bass so that it is a glossy black because that is what it originally was, but the previous owner repainted it white with 2 black pinstripes. i know that i need to take the hardware off of the guitar and sand it down. from there, i have no idea. help please! this thing looks like crap right now cuz it was just spray painted by the previous owner. it needs some TLC BAD and any help is welcome.

I highly recommend that you do a lot of research, first. You can start by reading some of the tutorials in the Ultimate Finishing/Painting thread: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=542726

Read the links at least twice. If you think you got it, read them again andf read some others not linked there.

Good Luck.

First dont bump your threads, especially if its only been a couple hours.

Second, if you took the time to go through the stickies, you would realize, if you read this thread:
https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=542726

You could most likely find anything you needed to know in there, and if not, you should ask there.
