so, in a few months I'm going to have some serious cash for an amp. Lets say I end up with £1300. I'm looking for versatility. I want an amp which can do blues (think B.B. King style), up to Classic Rock (Beatles, Queen, Led Zep) all the way up to EVH and Metallica.

MUST BE:
Valve
20+ watts
Master Volumed
below £1300

PREFERABLY:
a combo
Switchable Wattage

HOWEVER: After trying out the Line 6 M9, I kinda want one, so preferably the amp would be below £1000 so I could fit an M9 into the budget as well (or maybe a TC Nova System).

Take a look at MJW amps or Cornell, the MJW amps are slightly cheaper. They would be great for most of the stuff you play.

You'll find whisky very different, but try it and you'll grow into it, soon you and whisky are one, but still two, lovers dancing across a frozen lake under moonlight, wrapped in honey and warmth.

Sums up whisky perfectly

Egnater Renegade (don't know much about it)
ENGL Screamer
Bogner Alchemist (+ boost?)
Orange Rocker (+ boost)

how does this sound for a rig then:
Orange Rocker 30w combo - £650
OD Pedal?? (suggestions)
Line 6 M9 £300
by this time I'll have a wah as well.

EDIT: actually, I'd prefer an amp with an FX loop tbh. anyone seen the Budda Superdrive 18w?
