I was playing around with my guitar and I swear I accidently played something I had heard before, but I can't figure out what it is. Goes like this:

----------------------------
-0h1-----3------1------0----
-----2-----2------2---------
-------2-----2------2-------
----------------------------
----------------------------

The strings are tuned down half a step so take that into account. Anybody know what it is?

Too many songs to justify naming one.

The strings are tuned down half a step so take that into account. Anybody know what it is?

Why would that matter? Surely the relative pitch is what matters, absolute pitch is irrelevant?

The first half of that sounds like Fade To Black for me Well not LIKE fade to black but it resembles a part of it.

I guess?

If it's used in a lot of songs what're the most famous ones?

Just by looking at it, it reminds me of Tribute.

But I haven't heard it yet, so

Upon playing it, it does like the most generic of 'riffs'. But it's not a riff as it's clearly better suited to being part of a chord progression.

Either way, it's so generic I think every band has written a song with it.

I found another song that I can't figure out. This one I KNOW I've heard. It's like this:

-2h3----3-3------3--------
-----0----3----3---3----3--
------0---0--0-------0-0--
--------------------------
--------------------------
--------------------------

This one is bugging me even more. I think it used to be played on the radio a lot(sounds like it), but I can't figure out which band. Help anyone?

The Second one is Broken Acoustic by Seether, learn to google.

Protip: If you have a tab for a song you don't know, enter each string as a line on google, like so:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=opera&rls=en&hs=Gh7&q=%222h3+3+3+3%22+%220+3+3+3+3%22+%220+0+0+0+0%22&aq=f&oq=&aqi=

EDIT:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=opera&rls=en&hs=o3m&q=%220h1+3+1+0%22+%222+2+2%22&aq=f&oq=&aqi=

Google says the first one is When I'm Gone or Away From the Sun by 3 Doors Down

Wow. I didn't think Seether had any hits that big. And yeah When I'm Gone is definitely the first one. Thanks.
