hey guys,
ive been recently checking out baritone electrics, and i must say i likey
anyone have any opinions on which is the best?

i saw some vids on the prs mike mushock one and it sounds pretty cool
(danelectro is crap imo)
im not lookin for a hot pickup..rather i like the sounds without a little bit of drive (at best0 but with a thick heavy sound

thanks!

Best? Best for what?
Budget? Preferences? Yay or nay on a trem?

Need a bit more info.

Man, I could go for a 7 right now...

best sounds quality in electric with a thick sounds (and not exceedingly hot pickups.. so it sounds good without distortion too)
im a strat player generally.. preferably a floating tremolo (doesnt matter what kind)

budget is ~600-1k
ive made the mistake of going cheap before for just a sound, and will never do so again

I got the Schecter Blackjack EX a few weeks ago and it’s just an incredible guitar. The pickups might be too hot for you, but they clean up nicely with the volume turned to about half, and you can tap them to single-coils if you really want to calm it down.

I’ve tried the Mushock, it seemed like a nice guitar but I just didn’t like the feel of it. I certainly wouldn’t be unhappy with it, I just thought the Schecter played better.

Get thee to a store and try different models. It’s probably better to try them at stores off the beaten path—I find that the baritones in chain stores often have dead strings and setup issues due to clueless morons trying to get them into higher tunings.

i never played scheter's
how are the necks in comparison to a gibson vs fender?

i just saw theres a fender baritone special but i cant seem to find much on it
generally not a good sign..

The Schecter neck is weird. It’s similar to a Strat in the middle, a little wider near the headstock, and it flattens out toward the body.

I did notice that you want one with a floating trem. The Blackjack EX doesn’t come with one, but yesterday they announced a new Damien with an extended scale and FR.
