Hello everyone,

I have a Squire M-80 and recently the electronics have stopped working properly. Whenever I plug my guitar into the amp, I hear a faint kind of feedback coming out of it. If I barely apply pressure to the guitar cable, it will work correctly until I release my finger from the end of the cable. I'm assuming it's a problem with the jack, so I opened up my guitar, attempted to repair it, but it didn't quite do the trick. The problem is definitely not with the cable or amp, because I have tested the same equipment on other guitars. If someone could help me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I don't think that it's a shielding problem, but it might be a problem with the grounds. One thing that stuck out when I opened the guitar up by the jack was that it had only one wire attached to the jack and not two, kind of like a Fender Jazz bass.

Does this mean my solution would be the same one as stated in the link above - To add another wire to the jack?
