I found a Mark III I really wanted but due to current circumstances I'm unable to get it! Sucks to be me, I know. So I begin a search again.

The low down:

Great cleans
Mid-high gain
50-100W (preferably switchable)
Mostly for alternative rock sort of stuff, heaviness where needed
FX loop
I intend to use it for gigging
I'll be running a Maxon OD-9 through it
$1000~ budget
EDIT: wouldn't mind reverb as well

I'm alright with buying used, but it's hard to find used stuff here that's actually discounted by any amount. Everything is MAYBE $200 less than the new price, if you're lucky. Really blows.

I'm sorry to ask this in your thread but how is your OD-9? Have you compared it to the OD808?
Again sorry, :-(.

It's great, very versatile and almost transparent when you need it to be. True bypass blah blah. I didn't compare it directly to the 808 but I've always preferred the OD-9, TS9 etc to their 808 counterparts.

@MetalGuitarest

Bugera, Peavey and Randall are pretty much out of the question here. The first two can't even be found and the good Randalls are fairly rare, although I don't really like them very much anyways.

Ewww... I don't associate the Rev Jr Pro with great cleans.

How about a Single Rectifier? Not sure about the price though.

it's so cool to hate Gibson, even the federal Department of Justice hates them.

I've tried a few Recs but I only really like the Roadster. Haven't tried a Road King. They're way overpriced on the used market here. I'm already spending $600 on a cab.

The Bugera looks cool but I think I think I'd prefer a 6262 if I could find one. I'm not really familiar with them anyways.

Bugera's high gain amps are all Peavey clones, except the 1990, which is a JCM 900 clone.

333 = XXX
333XL = JSX
6260 = 5150/6505
6262 = 5150 II / 6505+
