I have begun building a guitar loosely based off paul gilbert's fireman. Mine Is a neck through made of maple with a ebony fretboard and 24 medium jumbo frets and a 25". The rest of the body is alder and the build is going pretty good. However I am at the point where I need to order pickups and I am still kind of undecided. I was originally thinking about air norton/tonezone combination but after thinking about it i really like paul's fireman sound with the air classics. I was just looking for advise because I have never had any Dimarzio pickups but alot of my heros use them like buckethead, gilbert, petrucci, Vai, satriani, bumblefoot, ect. I play alot of different styles of music and need a pretty versatile pickup combo. any opinions would be helpful.
