How versatile are Krank amps? Are they good for a variety of music or more edged towards metal, hard rock, alternative? I have no experience ever playing through one. i have heard they are very gainy. The truth is all i wanna play is grunge, metal etc. so this could be a possible choice.

the Rev is pretty versatile
the K-Stein is definitely geared towards the br00tz

the Rev Jr is a killer amp, IMO. very versatile. can't wait to try a Krankenstein Jr. Kranks dummy at Grunge and metal music, but they can pull off other styles quite easily.

Hmmm, actually I'm of the opinion that the Krank Rev Jr Pro is helluva versatile... if you're looking for a wide range of tones in the metal genre... outside of that... not so great IMO.

It's a killer amp no doubt, but its very very metal oriented. It can get you a WIDE range of metal tones, but not so great for everything else. The Krank amps tend to specialise in one area of tones.

it's so cool to hate Gibson, even the federal Department of Justice hates them.

I'd go for the Rev jr, but either one would be a great amp. i think the Rev might be more suited to grunge then the Boogie.
