hi so im a pretty intermediate guitar player i can play alright but nothing amazing and i think i wanna try out learning a guitar solo.
my problem is i want to learn one that's not really damn long or hard, i basically want a solo that wont take me 6 months to perfect do you see what im getting at?

so basically i was hoping someone could help me find a good solo to learn and maybe link me to a good tab

thanks

p.s I listen to a lot of heavy metal, thrash metal, death metal, metalcore and bits of everything else.

p.p.s If this is also the wrong section im gonna be pissed cos ive already had it locked once

Ending Credits - Opeth

If you're up for that sort of style, that is. It's super easy and super fun. Sounds awesome too.

Some August Burns Red solos don't sound too hard, but I haven't looked at any tabs. The simpler A7X solos are around the intermediate level as well.

Ending Credits is the first song I ever learned

Other than that:
Shook Me All Night - ACDC (min pent)
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica (min pent)
Stairway - Led Zep (min pent plus the odd F (6th))
Paranoid - Ozzy (min pent)

Really depends what you define as intermediate.

Symphony of Destruction- Megadeth (may be considered advanced to some)
Holy Wars 1st solo (not the acoustic one)- Megadeth
Master of Puppets Kirk's solo- Metallica (also may be considered advanced to some)
Fade to Black 2nd solo- Metallica

Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow - Bullet For My Valentine
Hand of Blood - Bullet For My Valentine
Tears Don't Fall - Bullet For My Valentine
Seize the Day - Avenged Sevenfold
Disappear - Bullet For My Valentine (maybe, depends on what you mean by intermediate)
Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne
The Sound of Truth - As I Lay Dying (again, might be difficult)
Right Side of the Bed - Atreyu
Stricken - Disturbed

Have fun! ^^

Here's a few more that are a bit easier than some of the other ones posted.
Welcome Home - Coheed and Cambria
Enter Sandman - Metallica
Bark at the Moon - Ozzy
Goodnight Kiss - Dream Theater
Out of the Silent Planet - Iron Maiden
Gilberto Concerto - Paul Gilbert. It's actually a lot easier than most people seem to think. I didn't have any trouble with it.

Junior's usually at least a little terse, but he knows his stuff. I've always read his posts in a grouchy grandfather voice, a grouchy grandfather with a huge stiffy for alternate picking.
Besides that, he's right this time. As usual.

Nothing else matters - metallica and sieze the day - a7x.... The only thing that makes thoseeven slightly hard is the bends, and if your truly an intermediate, bends should not be hard.

I have a trascribed book that is totally accurate for most of randy rhodes work with ozzy e mail me hvymtlgds at yahoo if you want me to send you copies.
living after midnight is a good slow clean solo to learn
children of the damned has a slow intro twin solo and kirk hammet used the beginning part of adrians solo to write the beginning part of the solo for One. theres somthing to shoot for.
anything by angus young is easy if you have a blues scale under your belt.

learning metallica solos really helped my up my technique
at first i thought i was never gonn play em, but slow practice, and now easy money xD
Metallica - Enter Sandman
Metallica - Fade To Black
Metallica - Master Of Puppets
Metallica - Orion
Metallica - Nothing Else Matters (yyyyyyyyy)

but if it's not your taste of music then i dont kno

I myself have moved from thrash to instumental rock
Those metallica solos became too easy, and now i am struggling with Steve Vai tunes, Satriani, Gilbert....but i'll get em one day

Bullet for my Valentine has a lot of intermediate solos, so try some of those
And try some Bring Me the Horizon. The songs that have solos usually have intermediate solos. Id say start with Black and Blue
