Y'know, I'm trying to decide whether or not I'm sad about this. He was a manipulative prick, but without him, there would be no Sex Pistols.

My head hurts. Gonna go smash my broken bass amp. Should be fun.

Johnny Rotten is having a hearty laugh and a pint right now.

You know, I too was thinking, "Wonder what Johnny's thinking right now?"

And if there is an afterlife, I hope Sid Vicious is taking a bike chain to McClaren's spirit head right now.

I read half of Player Piano but then I got bored of it and stopped. Also this just reminded me I have to return Naked Lunch to the Library soon.

Rancid are the best punk band ever.

Tim Armstrong is a songwriting genius, is a complete fashion diva and has an incredible singing voice.

He doesn't sound like Opie from family guy at all.

That's nice. I don't care what most say, Lydon has always been a class act, and when he goes I will be sure to be very sad.

I've read Breakfast of Champions, and just finished SH5. Loved them both. I've heard really good things about Cat's Cradle. My girlfriend says it's her favorite book ever. I'll read that when I can get my hands on a copy.

i didn't care for breakfast of champions at first, but now I love it. Mother night is also interesting, not as vonnegut-esque but still good, and enjoyable. I was reading time quake but I just stopped half way through...too much vonnegut, need to read some other things before I go back to him, how i feel about cormac mccarthy, too.

Everyone tells me I need to read Vonnegut and that's why I don't.

I think I'm going to read The Brothers Karamazov next.

Those old Russian dudes had no concept of brevity. They needed editors!

I didn't even make it past Raskolnikov's meeting with Marmeladov in the tavern the fist time I tried to read C&P.

Which was kind of a shame, as it was super hot in my shitty little room and I felt loads of contempt towards humanity because of that. So I was in a mood to relate.

My friend says The Idiot is his favorite Dostoevsky work. And Iggy Pop named an album after it, so it must be pretty fucking punk, am I right?

I loved Crime and Punishment. I'm gonna reread it after this semester ends. If you want a brief novel, Notes From Underground is great.

Unlike axeslash, nobody tells me I need to read Vonnegut.
In fact, my good friend Doolittle has repeatedly told me not to.
I bought a used copy of Slaughterhouse 5 a while back, and if I ever have nothing better to do I'll disregard his advice.

Naked Lunch is a great book. Finally finished it. And I imagine if you read it while listening to "Buffalo Gals", it could create some sort of sense of alternative performance art:
