Hello Pit, I have a little problem going on.

I just had my father take out a loan on a 2005 Subaru Legacy. I'm making loan and insurance payments on the thing. There's one issue. My dad decided to restrict me from using it until I turn 18 in a month and a half due to the fact that I have smoked for 3 years. However, he gave me the option of quitting and having use of the car right now. I need some opinions on what I should do.

I don't need to hear "EWWWWW BUTTZ R GROOOWWSSSSZ" or anything like that. Any smoker knows that and has been told that countless times. I'm asking what makes sense to do in this situation.

Thanks!

This is the dumbest question I've heard all day. Quit smoking.

If at all possible, quit; I mean, it seems like it may be worth it. However, seeing as you've been smoking for three years, I'm guessing it wouldn't be that simple....

Seems like a pretty easy decision to me...

Smoke and be a loser without a car.

Don't smoke and have a car.
Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.

Youre not 18? Then the only options are the two you stated.

Taking out the loan in his name is a pretty big favour, seeing as he'll be left holding the baby if you default.

Pros of quitting: Not dying. Car. More money in your pocket
Cons of quitting: You cant look cool in front of a junior high school

Good one my friend.

The problems with me quitting are:
A) Withdrawal symptoms are a HUGE bitch
B) Just about everyone I associate with smokes, making it very hard to do without them.

A month doesn't seem like a long time, but the thing is sitting outside of my house... taunting me xD

If you enjoy smoking then keep going and wait the month.
If you really want the car then you should give up the fags for a while mate.

It's really not a massively hard decision... just weigh out the pros and cons.

Theres no point to smoking, however, there is a point to having a car.

Quit, get the car, and dont look back.

Cars = Usefull. They get you to places.
Smoking = Useless. They get you dead.

This really is a no brainer to me. Unless you truely are addicted because then it's slightly more complicated. But still a simple solution.

Whatever the outcome is, you should stop smoking brah.

It's hard man. I'll find something worth quitting for someday I hope. I still have to decide if I'll wait it out for a month for this though.

Thanks everyone!

Quit crying about "withdrawal symptoms." I have known GIRLS who have smoked longer than you quit cold turkey.

Yeah, it's going to suck. But quit being a baby about it.

You're the one who started smoking to begin with. Deal with it.

I hate people who complain about that shit.

Have you been a smoker and quit?

It's nothing to do with balls or being a baby or gender. It's all about having a reason to quit.

I don't understand. Are you asking for some kind of third alternative?

Well there isn't one.

I have smoked, but I would never classify myself as a 'smoker.' You're talking about withdrawal symptoms sucking... Is that not worth having a car?

Also why wouldn't your reason be your general health?

Q. How can you sit there and know how bad the shit is for you and still say that you have no reason to quit?

A. Natural selection.

Well I think you should quit anyways. Not just to get your car back.

Quit smoking.

It's gonna' be hard man but quit!

It's a car man, right outside your door ready to be driven, withdrawal will be hard but think of the freedom the car will give you!

It ain't too hard, you just need that can do attitude.

Q. How can someone go ahead and say this is easy and "witdrawal symptoms r nut'n"?

A. They don't know what the hell the experience is like.

I didn't ask for people to call me out on this, I asked which option makes more sense.
