Okay guys, I have a confession to make. Not really a confession since it's something that's been bugging me for awhile but I've always been in denial about it.

Check out anything by the Violent Femmes, their bassist almost exclusively uses mic'd acoustic basses and he's incredible.

My favorite, "Add It Up", has a great bass solo.

Ibanez SR500
Peavey BAM 210

I try to be as melodic and lyrical as possible; tone, phrasing and note choice being key. For me, an illusive target.

Bass solo? Harmonics?

Let me suggest Jaco Pastorius my friend...

That is beautiful man.

I was always fond of this clip, even if it's just a drunk guy fooling around:

The Sailor's Hornpipe fits very well with the tone you get from an Acoustic.
Nope, no sig here.

Just a drunk guy fooling around? Pudsy's a bit more than that I'm afraid. Check out some of his other stuff. He's got like 30 years under his belt and it really shows.
Only play what you hear. If you don’t hear anything, don’t play anything.
