EDIT: By "children" I mean somewhere around 5 years old...

Sorry to sound sexist by addressing this thread to/for guys, but that's the point actually: To know if most guys would still give up their seat in a crowded public transportation vehicle with standing room only for a woman.

Or rather, who would give your seat to? Children? Elderly? Ill/Disabled? Visibly pregnant women?

So just to make it clear, the scenario is that you're in a public vehicle - a bus, the train, or whatever you have where you live - and it's crowded/standing room... who would you give your seat up to?

Note that you can select multiple choices in the poll.

Personally, I would only give up my seat for pregnant women, elderly, disabled, and maybe folks carrying lots of stuff.

I'd just give up my seat, and let them decide who wants it, so as to avoid a moral battle in my head.

No children though.

Children can stand, they're generally full of energy and happy to stand up/run around all day.

Women aren't any less capable of standing than men, so not them.

All the others though, sure.

You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door.

Men never give their seat up for me and I wouldn't sit in it if they did.

Women aren't cripples.

What if they've been shopping all day and can't walk or carry anything?

I always stand anyway. And no mufugga is gonna take my standing spot

Why give up my seat... When you could sit on my lap?
Oh.... No? Alright, fine. Take the seat.
#15
All but women and children.

Unless the woman is my date or unless the child is really whining I wouldn't give it up.

Exception if the child is my child.

Pregnant and Disabled.

Elderly if they ask and don't just glare and expect me to move.

Children and women are just as capable of standing up as I would be, people carrying stuff can just put it down.

All but children. And ugly women.

If they can't walk they are disabled.

If they can't carry anything they should put their bags on the floor.

I'm slightly repulsed at how many of you are saying you would give up your seat for a hot girl. Grow some balls...

I voted old people but i'm regretting it as i've realised that old people are really rude and not pleasent people
#26
Women want equality, so no. It could possibly insult the women anyway if the only reason you were giving the seat up for her was because she was a women.

Children, hell no.

All the rest yes, apart from the person with loads of stuff if I have the same problem.

All but kids.

Well people carrying a lot of stuff depends.
I'd give up my seat for a woman to maintain a "nice guy" image as opposed to a "I want to tap that" image.

Though this is redundant, I don't use the bus.
#30
Women? lol. Women have been able to stand just like men for millenniums.

Pregnant women
Elderly
Ill people
People carrying lots of stuff

Pregnant women, the ill, and the elderly.
People who carry loads of stuff can occasionally get my seat too, but only if I'm in a really good mood (ie inebriated enough so that I can still stand up on the bus, but am generally more likely to do random crap).

Fine! I'll take my chivalry elsewhere.
Remind me never to date you. If I held the door for you, you'd prolly tell me to gtfo! Honestly...I knew a girl who'd never let me hold the door for her; it was the most annoying thing in the world. It's hardly about whether women can do for themselves, it's about being a courteous man.
#36
All of the above except women, surely it'd be abit strange if i just look up to a random woman who looked perfectly healthy and asked her if she wanted my seat?

The only reason i'd ever give my seat to a child, is if the parent was clearly having a hard time with there child whilst stood up.

This. Something happens when people turn 60. They just get ****in' mean!

I wouldn't be surprised if I were to get up for some old lady and hear her say "why don't you get up faster you little shit".

I would then proceed to smash her face several times with whatever I'm holding, push her off the chair, sit back down, and throw her a towel or handkerchief or something similar.
