Ok, here's the deal....

im looking to buy a new amp.

i need it to be loud enough to gig with, but also use it at home

if its a head, i need a 2X12 cab with it (dont ask why)

i have set myself a budget of £600, for the amp, or Head+Cab.

it MUST have a good clean channel, and distortion channel. and be foot-switchable

Amps ive been looking at already:

Peavey Valveking Head + 212 cab

Valveking 212

Blackstar HT-venue 40w

Blackstar HT Studio head +212 cab

Randall RH150G3 Head + 212 cab

ok, i need advice on what to get, and im open to sugestions on other amps

thanks

Out of your list, i'd go with one of the Blackstars or the Randall. I hate the ValveKing.

Other than that, i'd look for a Laney VC or TT 2x12" combo.

brootalz-capable? if not, how heavy does it need to be able to get?

what type of cleans?
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

+1. You can't just say "it MUST have a good clean channel, and distortion channel" because we don't know what type of sound you're looking for. What kind of genres do you play? What are your favourite bands (tonal wise).

Since you havent specified what genre's your intending to play... a used Engl screamer combo + Z-5 Footswitch would be my choice as its a very versitle, great sounding amp.

Then my vote is for the Randall RH150G3.
