Hi guys,

I just joined up, and I'm very excited to get started. I've already submitted a tab, with two more in progress.

Anyway, to the point: I've got an epiphone les paul custom, called the Black Beauty. I'd like to customize it, but I've got a couple questions.

First of all, let me tell you how I want to customize it. I want to put a symbol/logo/seal, whatever you want to call it, on the face of the guitar. What would be the best way to go about doing this?

I don't know whether wood-burning or simply painting would be better. I think I would prefer wood-buring, in order to add texture. What would that entail? What steps would I need to take in order to wood-burn or paint this guitar, without damaging the guitar itself?

Thanks in advance for you help!

Yeah, I meant the frontside.

The problem I have with stickers is this:
They wear off very quickly.
They leave behind nasty adhesive.

Or are the decals you're talking about different?

EDIT:
The design that I want is the seal of the cherokee nation.

The vinyl sticker is the easiest method. You can get very thin vinyl, then put a few coats of lacquer over the top to protect it.

I wouldn't try wood burning unless you're very experienced with it.

You could bring the guitar to a sign maker that does laser etching.
example - laser etched guitar (not mine):
