ok so basically my style is similar to the black keys, white stripes, stuff like that, only a little more punk. I don't need gratuitous amounts of distortion, if i ever felt the need to play metal, i would get a pedal and remember why I don't play metal. I would like some overdrive, but I also really love a good clean tone. I will most likely be using a big muff for most of my distortion needs.

My budget is around 800 dollars, and this thing will need to be gig worthy. I live in nashville, so the used market is awesome. I see a lot of vintage fender twin reverbs on CL, but they are silverface. Whats the deal with them things?

thanks guys.

get a blackface fender and you're good to go.
deluxe or twin for gigging with a pedal.

probably no replies cuz you don't play metal so no one knows what to rec.

Silverface is fine imo. they don't sound that bad. They just don't sound as good as bf. Try them out and see.

If you wanna pull some Jack White, snag an MXR Blue Box, and I'd go with an AC15 over an AC30 if you want to play stuff with more dirt, it'll be easier to push into overdrive, and I'm pretty sure there's not much tonal difference, but I tend to be wrong quite a bit..
