Hey,

So recently got myself an Ibanez JS100. I really like it, very playable, nice neck, etc.

My only problem is that the pickups lack some output? There nice for cleans, but when played with distortion there's something missing I feel.

Anyone got any suggestions for new pups? Or maybe some tricks I can do to improve the output?

Budget + amp?

What do you feel to be missing in your neck pickups?

it's so cool to hate Gibson, even the federal Department of Justice hates them.

if you really want high output, i suggest emg 81s if you have a battery cavity. dimarzio x2ns are pretty ferocious too. evolutions are also a favorite of mine for high gain.

Not sure on budget really, hard to say at the moment.

My amps not great either, but I've played it through a different, higher quality, amp, and it was the same.

I'm not really looking for mega high gain, just more than what I have now, which I feel is weak.

If your amp isn't great, you should be looking at changing your amp.

If you're really keen on changing your pickups, what styles of music do you play?

Well, if you like Satch, I'd recommend the pups he uses: (his signatures) Mo' Joe and PAF Joe, (or his old ones) Fred and PAF Pro... or some other combination.
