So im uber LP gassing again.

My requirements: Traditional LP (one i get will be tobaccoburst) sound For classic rock/ 80's hair metal. From AC/DC to GNR to Poison to Motley Crue. the most metal would be Iron Maiden off the Brave New World album
I will run it out of a Peavey Vypyr 60 tube.

ALL FIGURES ARE US DOLLARS
My first idea:
Get a new LP studio, and pop in new tuners as well as a PG/Jazz pickup set.
Total cost: round 1200ish?

Second Idea:

Get an Epi Standard and do the same as above.

Cost: 800ish

third idea

Get an Agile AL-3000m, do the above

Round 1100?

Fourth idea

Save up longer and get the Gibson Standard and keep stock

What are the quality diferences mainly is what im asking and input on what you guys think would be a logical choice.

Part of me dislikes the idea of getting a gibby as i wouldnt mod it, and if i do mod it will add character to her, and make her more special to me. By the way, her name will be Kaela.

Input pl0x?

im not looking for an end all though mirror, im looking for a nice guitar at a nice price.

your sig says you own 2 LPs, one from each vendor, so why even bother asking this question? Everyone could make a case for you to get something else; I say get a Tele Deluxe and throw some EMGs in it....no?

If you like your LP and want another, then go for it.

well im wondering what people think of the options i presented.

At this moment im pretty torn between the studio mod and the Agile mod.

I like the idea of customizing more, and i dont NEED a 2k guitar.

The trad is going to feel better then your studio but not that significantly better. If anything it will make you not want to play your epi or your studio. A used historic won't be that much more expensive and will either make you not need another lp or want al of them.

For me, a historic would end any sort of lp gassing, unless I was gonna play with lp tone and nothing else or wanted to collect them all.

There's plenty else out there both derived from Gibson and derived from Fender. Not necessarily better but like different.

Real quick of the top of my head, my favorites right now would be...
PRS Hollowbody, Swamp Ash Narrowfield, Custom 24
Anderson T Classic, Drop Top, Bulldog
Suhr Classic S, T
Grosh Hollow Bent Top Custom, Electrajet (would kill for an electrajet), Set Neck Custom
Colling 360, 290, I-35, City Limits
G&L ASAT
MotorAve Lemans
Tyler Mongoose
Gibson Johnny A, 336

That's all I can think of right now.

I would murder innocent children for a MotorAve...

EDIT: For a BelAire though...

if you want to play 80s hair metal etc then get yourself a superstrat mod it any way you like and get on with life. you have LPs already that would probably already do what you want.

i cant stand superstrats =( can someone please just advise me on what i asked?

get the studio and mod it.
always get the best you can possibly afford then save for mods down the line.
a 3k guitar can use some mods the same as a 800.

So whats the comparison between a Gibby studio and an agile 3000m? quality wise. Would they be about the same but one has binding? would the gibson have higher grade wood?
