There are buffers and boosts that are installed right before the output jack, which require a 9v. What are you looking to accomplish though?

the only pickups that require and will work with a battery are active pickups, there are modboards and stuff like posted above for altering sound that need powering but since were talking about pickups it doesnt matter, the only reason these active pickups even need the battery is they have somewhat of a pre amp built into them to drive a bigger signal into the amps pre-amp for usually, more gain.. emgs/blackouts/ect
