First you put your pants on your head.

You'll probably get some praise from people in as sad of a situation as you or maybe some laughs from people who enjoy your lame sense of humor.

I thought the Spider IVs weren't as bad as the IIIs?

"weren't as bad"=/= good, Just less suckish

On a more relevant note, I’d say $250-$300 would be fair/what you could expect to get for it, depending on what the cosmetic damage is, where it is and how bad it is

he is just starting out from the looks of it. If he's not gigging, there's no point in him having a good amp, especially when he has no ear for tone yet, and when he hasn't found a general direction for what he wants his tone to be. Nobody starts with a proper tube amp or high end solid state. Quit with the bandwagoning.

No, they're just as bad. But again, he is a beginner, so it won't make much of a difference and it will let him experiment before he goes out and buys a good amp that will suit his sound.

The damn things are a hundred bucks and are a nice fit for a beginner.
