Dunno if this is the correct board, if it's not point me in the right direction

I was just wondering, can you make tabs never ending? I always mess up with the bars being incomplete or exceeded, I know how everything sounds in my head but I'm having trouble tabbing it out.

Also, I just learned how to do drums.. kinda. At least, I get what ones to use. Typical metal beats, for instance, metalcore/thrash metal... what are some good beats I could use? Obviously double bass but I'm no drummer and I don't get how they do it. Preferably with the numbers you use as well.

And... drum rolls? What numbers do I use for them? It sounds weird with the two toms I use. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

With the "never end" thing, just put a repeat on the last measure and set it as high as you can.

Beats: Since you like Metallica, Battery and Fight Fire With Fire are great examples of thrash beats.

Rolls: Set the note value to 16th/32nd/ whatever, and you'll get decent enough rolls. You could also try putting the tremolo picking thingy on a snare note, but it doesn't sound as smooth.

Hope this helps you.

I use a combination of 41, 43, 45 and 47 for drum rolls usually

Okay guys, I have a confession to make. Not really a confession since it's something that's been bugging me for awhile but I've always been in denial about it.

**** you gilly, it's not what you think

I guess you were specifically talking about tom rolls then? If that's the case, the numbers you use are fine. Don't forget about 48 and 50 for the highest toms.

I thought they were the lowest toms?

EDIT: and you seem to have me mistaken for the OP

I meant, maybe you want to do a full "sweep" of all the toms in a fill or something. And what the hell is the OP?

Original poster, the thread starter. Also make shure youn use some snare on your fills, to make them a bit more realistic.
