With thunder rolling through my bones,
I'll break my chains, I'll search for home.
Attempt to climb these steep, bare stones,

Is it hard to keep breathing?

Archers string their silver bows
I rip these shackles from their holds,
Clouds of black turn into crows,

Or was that wishful thinking?

Candles flicker all around me,
Dying whispers, loud as screams,
Drowning in a deep, cold sea,
Terrible, wonderful, just a dream?

Hiding where the heart isn't found,
Do statues run, leap, or bound?
Glass cables break, the clock's unwound,

We're going nowhere at all.

The air is crisp and so sublime,
I'm already through my youth and prime,
No need to fear the pass of time,

Why is that a lie?

Candles flicker all around me,
Dying whispers, loud as screams,
Drowning in a deep, cold sea,
Terrible, wonderful, just a dream?
