So i as planning on buying a
tascam (i think thats the name of the interface) and possible an mxl 990 and or 991

for i think 200 but now im not sure if its worth it or not since the project(band) that i was going to start up isn't really happening.

I already have a nady dynamic mic that i could possibly use i was thinking maybe i should buy and 1/4 inch to 1/8 adapter or possibly a really cheap interface and do that.
what do you guys think i should do since im just trying to go really cheap and will be mainly recording screaming and singing vocals and guitars and possibly bass and or drums.

EDIT:
so i found this http://www.guitarcenter.com/ART-MXL-MXL-V63M-ART-Tube-MP-Studio-Package-581915-i1445166.gc
is this set up better than an mxl 990 with a cheap tascam interface?

Yes and NO

You can by taking a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter and plugging it into your sound card.

You shouldn't because it can lead to a damaged sound card if done wrong and the quality of it is going to be meh at best. I really suggest getting an audio interface or else you're going to end up disappointed and spending more money down the road.
