Hi, I recently changed the gauge of strings on my Ibanez RG and I need a new spring to give me enough tension to balance the trem. I looked on the site I get my strings from and the only tremolo springs they have are made for Fender Strats. Would a spring for a Fender Strat fit an Ibanez RG Edge III?

Thanks.

Please no tremolo flaming.

Normally they give you an xtra spring with the guitar when you buy it, if thats not the case then order from Ibanez or go to your local guitar shop and compare so that they are the same size.

I bought it second hand. Guitar shop hates me ( ) and do Ibanez even ship parts to the UK?

3 Springs and I put 10-52 on. I think it was either 9-42 or 10-46 on it before.

Just tighten the screws for the spring claw to increase the tension of the springs you currently have.

I did, the highest tuning I can get without running out of spring room is D Standard.

Wow. Fender tremolo springs should be fine, just make sure one end has a loop.

Fender makes springs for their Mustang model that has loops at both ends. You don't want those.

The ones I found were Strat springs.
My cousin said I can have a spring from his old Strat 'cause he never uses it.
