http://johncomino.tripod.com/index.html i found this site and its amazing shows all the movable shapes. Just wondering if the tonic is the root. I just dont remember i think it is so isthe tonic note starts on the d string of the movable chord say 3 fret tonic is d string would the 3rd fret movable chord be E shape 1 half step up would be same shape but a F? No matter which it is whether it be7 9 117#9 13 etc where ever that tonic note note is thats the name of the movable shape?

i dont wanna copy hendrix. He kinda open my eyes to fuller sounds and chords. I like the fact of 3 man bands.

Hendrix uses his thumb to bar parts of chords so his pinky is free to hit other notes

You don't need "movable shapes", in fact I can't stand that term - everything you play is "movable" as long as you're aware of your point of reference. What you need to learn is intervals. Once you've done that it's a simple matter to decide which ones you want to add to your chord and simply locate them relative to your root and drop them in.

No, that's useless actually

I have no idea what the guy is trying to achieve with that mess!

Read the first section of Josh Urban's Crusade article.

My teach got me to play the chord, then mess about with different notes from the pentatonic scale in that position. Have you learnt any hendrix? If you haven't I'd start with doing that.
