Well, as nice as Vypyrs are supposed to be, I haven't had good experiences with BC Riches, so I'd keep the Alexi.

well if am correct i think this bc rich is made out of nato mahgondy so im not sure if thas a good wood. but are all bc richs under a grand bad lol? otherwise at this point and time im staying with my alexi. thanks guys

No, they're not bad if you get up above around $600.

It would be more versatile than your Alexi for the simple fact that it has 2 pickups.

Nato is budget mahogany. Not bad, but not exactly great either.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

haha thanks im going to put a emg alx in it. so much for being oirginal but o well. i had thoughts about putting blackouts in it but ill take the emg alx and maybe find some sort of paf humbucker

You could always try playing it and seeing which one feels better.

I like that the BC Rich has 2 pickups, but I hate the headstock.

Also, free Vypyr 30 is awesome.

So, just play it, and decide after that.

Even if you do, it won't make a difference - their opinion and preferences most likely won't reflect yours at all.

I was think the alx aswell, but I always loved that compressed brutal tone of active's. That's what I really Want, I'm not gonna kid myself, lol.

i have had blackouts before. they are nice. but the idea of being able to add or subtract gain and have tone controls is pretty neat imo. also if you want to be a little more origanl you can find a differnt pickup and use it with the boost and eq controls which is what i plan on doing if i find a good pickup that will have "that" sound

yes true but i might be able to relate to some of there prefences

I would say keep what you have.

just because of that headstock...I HATE THAT!!!!

and I hate abalone..

IDK it's up to you to decide...

Ask yourself:

1. Do you dislike your current guitar?
2. If yes - why?
3. If yes - Is your friend's guitar better in those areas?

Play them side by side a few times. See which one feels best.

i am going to just go with my alexi. it has everything i like. alder ebony one pickup so the only reason why i wanted to trade would be to try somthing differnt and see if i liked it more. although i would no mine having a soloist or kramer baretta for now since playing a v can get old after a while.

as for the headstock... its a love-hate thing for me

Man...every few months I have to come on here and tell you NOT to get rid of your guitar.

It is a great guitar...period....you aren't going to find a whole lot better out there for what you probably play. Who needs 2 PU's anyways? I know I don't.

Also, put the EMG ALX in it....you will love it. I have had mine in for some time now and everytime I play I am just so happy at the tone I get.

HAHAHAHA!!!!

You'd end up with some crap guitar instead of the nice one that you have.

j/p

It is my personal opinion, but I still think your Alexi is better than all the other guitars you have talked about maybe trading for.
