I've had the same EMG 81-85's for over a year now, and just recently when I use high gain with my amp.

It's not my amp because I've also tried it with my friend's half stack and it still makes a beeping sounds that alternates between a high and low pitch.

However this ONLY happens when I have the gain turned up. On the cleans it's fine and there are no beeps.

Yeah just replaced the battery not even two weeks ago.

I'll try another battery though, also just in case you ask I do wrap it in electrical tape.

You might be using the wrong kind of battery. Don't know all the technicalities of Active EMG's yet.
