HST promises to use the increased revenue to improve infrastructure and social services as well as pay off nation's debt. The 'leftovers' are somehow going to magically be redistributed to the province and its people.

I mean we, the people, are supposed to believe that paying extra taxes for groceries are going to alleviate nation debt?

Or is there something more, like refunding this extra revenue to businesses, effectively moving the debt burden onto individual citizens?

We are probably never going to see that money again. Against, against, against.

It's another unnecessary tax, why would we be for it?

I thought it was just GST+PST combined? In which case it doesn't really affect me.

It's going to heavily effect the native american population, not so much the rest of us.

I'm royally pissed about it. I'm a second generation native american, and this kicks in RIGHT BEFORE I START PAYING MY COLLEGE TUITION. I've never had the need to use my status card for discounts and the such, but I was going to use it to pay for college, and now, because of the HST, I can't.

Move to Alberta. No PST at least, no HST being introduced. Best province btw.
