Hey guy's I got a little problem.
At home I have EMG 85 pickup with no battery clip.
So I'm gonna buy a new one to make a pair for my guitar.
The most logical is to buy a 81 so you have a metal pair
But I like the nice tones from the EMG 60 *like James Hetfield*
But does it make a good pair with a 60/85 combination???
I hope you guy's can help me out...:-)

Id suggest the 81 for the bridge, but you could try a 60/85. The 81 and 60 are both ceramic pickups, so it should distort well in the bridge without being too muddy. Jelle is an interesting name btw, but from now on your new name is Jelly.

some people have switched around the 81 and 85 in their guitars...so the 85 will work in the bridge. I've never tried it though...60 is a nice neck pickup though.

Look at Thomann.

I got a ZW set with 81 and 85 for €130. Not much, and you'd have another 85 to try in another guitar.

if you're using a brighter sounding guitar, then the 85'll sound great in the bridge, so yes it should work

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.
