Budget?
Styles of music?
Do you gig or play with a drummer?
What guitar(s) do you use?
Nearest major city?

neither of the amps you list is worth spending hard earned cash on honestly.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

THIS! 99% of people do NOT need half stacks. You pay extra money for a crappy amp (not saying that these amps are crappy, ive never played either) butfor the money, you could possibly get a tube combo. Size is not all that matters people.

This. We're trying to save your quite a bit of money, since if you go with either of those, you're probably going to be looking to replace them relatively soon. Answer the questions, and we may be able to find you an awesome steal off your local craigslist. Trust me, the last thing you want to do when spending a few hundred dollars is to not do your research and blindly buy an amp because it looks good or the sales rep told you it's the best amp ever.

Edit: We've got a budget now, and it's definitely something we can work with. Let us know your nearest large city (Detroit, New York, etc etc) and we should be able to find you some awesome stuff rather cheap off craigslist. There's nothing wrong with going used, especially from C-list.
Fender '04 Strat
MiM Sunburst with Maple Neck

Ibanez TS-808
Fender Blues Junior
Marshall JTM60

and the nearest major city is?

For $500 you could get a used 5150 combo that would probably leave you wondering how you used that pedal for so long. But depending on where you live, that may not be an option.

http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/msg/1720075163.html dsl head $500
http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/msg/1757757748.html 5150 combo, he's stoned at $700
http://flint.craigslist.org/msg/1750973445.html B-52 AT100 Tube head, $350 would need a cab.

or grab a new 6505+ 112 combo for $550. Most stores will knock 10% off of the $599 price.

Couldn't find a used 5150/6505 in your area for a decent enough price, but there's other options as well.

This could be interesting:

Try some haggling here:

Maybe this with a boost?:

Not a typical br00talz amp, but the price is good and it should work fine for metal when boosted.

Or the cheap solution: Peavey Classic 30 or 50 with a boost. The 30 can be picked up for 300 used.

actually that XXX combo would be great. way to go duck!
